Each year the Great American Beer Festival is held in Denver. This was my first time to go and here is my story. This is a bit long and photo’s will be edited in later:
For it’s been awhile.

Seems a lot has happened in our little world over the past few weeks. Or months. Or however long it’s been since I last slapped a post up. I’m interested in blogging, but by the time I get home at night I’m usually pretty tired and suddenly distracted by my other interests. Either doing or reading up on how to make something better, quicker blah blah blah.
However, that’s not what this post is going to be about today. Having just decided on the topic since it has me rather fired up this week.

Dining Out
Ξ July 16th, 2008 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Life |
Recently in NYC a new state law requires restaurants to publish the total calories per food item in the same font (no fine print) as the price. This is fantastic! The foods out there today for purchase are so laden in calories its unreal. People are finally going to discover how much excess they’re ingesting while dining. Frankly most people don’t go to a restaurant’s website to check out the nutritional value of what they’re about to eat. I know I don’t. Who has time?
Beer Tasting

I love beer.
That in itself is a solid blog right there folks. Jot that down. I brew it, I drink it, I share it. After all at making 5 gallons at a time, I’m not going to drink it all and be 400lbs. Besides, I get bored with the same 3 beers on tap all the time.

As most people are aware, I live in a warehouse. Oh no, not a fancy pants converted loft, but a good old fashioned warehouse. Really, I live above an Aikido Dojo (martial arts) that I was heavily into before totally destroying my back. Twice. Now I rarely train and no one is begging to move in, so I stay. As we approach summer and the heat is kicking in, I really wonder how sane I am. And I realize, no, I’m not that sane at all.

Problem: It gets hot in the summer. Especually if you live in a warehouse. No biggie for me, but my beer can go bad if it gets too warm. I currently have 6 kegs of brew outside of the kegerator comprising nearly $300 worth of ingredients, ~30hrs of work and 35 gallons in volume. I’m not about to let my craft go bad!
Gay Marriage in Cali

On June 17th the County will begin issuing marriage certificates to gay couples. A long drawn out flight, that as far as I’m concerned is a civil rights issue. I personally don’t care who marries who as I do believe it’s our fundamental right to be happy and consenting adults can do whatever the hell they please. What I didn’t realize is that my building is to be ground zero for marriages.
3rd day of the Trolly

A few months back I had made the decision when a tank of gas hit $40 I’d switch over to taking public transit. Didn’t happen. A week before Memorial Day, it cost $55 to tank up my Honda Element. 13 gal tank, and I usually put 11 to 12 gallons it. I suddenly had this tingling feeling near my rear. What on earth could that be? Why, I think I’d just been bent over by the pump!
